DIY Learn is our online learning programme in innovation, developed by Nesta and the Rockefeller Foundation in partnership with the Open University.
We have created a set of ten short, practical modules on core innovation tools and methods from the DIY Toolkit. The modules are freely available on The Open University’s OpenLearn Works website and can be worked through or downloaded anytime, anywhere. DIY Learn includes:
What’s the need?
We want to make innovation the new normal, and we recognise the importance of building innovation practices into everyday life.
There is a lot of online content and training on innovation already out there, but for busy people it can be difficult to know what is really useful. DIY Learn cuts through this, presenting a collection of the most useful and widely used tools in the DIY Toolkit. Our aim is to make innovation learning more accessible in order to accelerate the uptake of innovation methods.
Since its launch in March 2014, the DIY Toolkit has been viewed hundreds of thousands of times by people in more than 200 countries and territories. It is one of the international development sector’s key innovation resources. Here at Nesta we use the toolkit in face-to-face learning sessions with NGOs, governments and foundations across the world.
